As the title indicates . . . a little of this and a little of that . . . various genres and styles. s
This album is the first of four albums in the "This And That" series. Like my albums, there are a lot of different genres and styles. Most of my songs were all written, arranged, recorded and mixed by me in my home studio. After playing in bands for decades, it was most unusual to attempt to make these albums without other musicians. I miss their fellowship and artistic contributions. I try to give credit, on a few songs, where I did have input from other musicians. For example, "Down At The Quarry", Carlos Dingess, played steel guitar. I'm so appreciative for his talent and skill on this recording. Most songs have a story that influenced the creation of the song. The quarry song was influenced by a co-worker. The quarry is located near the University of Georgia. i never visited the quarry but wrote about it based on information that he shared with me. The song, "Me", was influenced by my son Ryan, a counselor in VA. He shared with me some of the emotional situations that a few of his patients experienced. The song, "On The Banks Of The Chattahoochee", was written years ago when my son Keith and I caught trout in this river that runs through Atlanta. Therefore, the Chattahoochee river was on my mind. The song, "I Ain't Ready To Hang It Up Just Yet", is somewhat autobiographical as I recalled all the years that my fellow musicians and I performed publicly.
